God gave me some scriptures to hold onto and to apply to each moment of the day. I’ll share them with you. These scriptures will help me to have a successful day which will lead to a successful and peaceful week. I will meditate on them day and night. I will speak them. I will put them into practice.
“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

What scriptures will you hold onto this week?
As I grew up, there were certain songs I wasn’t allowed to listen to. I didn’t understand why my parents were “torturing” me. I knew why I couldn’t party “to the break of dawn”, but what was wrong with me listening to rap and r&b? All of my friends listened to it, therefore I just HAD to do the same. Little did I know, my parents knew just a little more than I did. Who would’ve thought. lol. To think they had more wisdom than I, a know it all teenager.
It wasn’t until I grew in my relationship with Christ that I gained an understanding of why I need to protect my ear gate…my spirit. I’ll be the first to say that I’m that person who loves a good beat. That moment you are listening to a song with a dope beat that causes you to make an “ugly face” and bop your head is gold. But there comes a time when we have to look past the beat and listen to the lyrics.
Since God placed this on my heart, I took a moment to reevaluate all of the music I listened to. How did the song make me feel? Who did I think about while listening to the song? There’s this one song, by a gospel artist, that didn’t lead me to Christ at all. When I listened to it, it condoned my carnal thinking. It didn’t connect me to Christ in any way. It didn’t challenge me to strengthen my walk with Him at all. Have you taken a moment to listen to the lyrics of your favorite artist? Yes even your favorite gospel artist? I recommend you do. Half of these artist aren’t even mentioning the name of Jesus Christ anymore, nor pointing to Him in any way. Let’s be mindful of what we put in our system.

I truly believe that You are the Son of God. I confess that I have sinned against You and cannot save myself. Please forgive my wrongdoing and let me live in a relationship with You from now on. I receive You as my personal Savior and believe that You have died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead and are alive and can hear my prayers. I invite You to rule in my life and in my heart from this day forward. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You. Thank You for saving me.
