Ever need a break during a frustrating, pull your hair out moment? Yeah, me too. Actually, I just had one of those moments. Within the past 2 weeks things have changed in my life. Not for the bad, but the things that are happening due to the change can be frustrating. I’m learning people while learning myself. Sounds overwhelming, huh? Well, it can be if I do this within myself. But when I want to just scream and run away, God reminds me that I can do all things through Him. All I have to do is take His hand and let Him walk me through the somewhat difficult moments. When I do, I can feel the tension ease, and my heart beat slowly decreases. A smile invades my face and I feel stronger. And the plus side? I keep all of my hair. Lol. So when you find yourself needing a break in the midst of frustration, grab ahold Jesus’ hand. And walk with Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to be worry free. Help me to trust Your Word and to hold You to it. Remove stress, doubt, and fear. Help me to walk in the newness that Your Word brings. Refresh and reboot my faith. Give me my joy back. I want to please You. Help me. I need You. So please make a way. Fix my situation. Help me not to become weary but to trust in You with all of my heart. Help me to rejoice in all things. I love You, Jesus. I need You, Jesus. Help. In Jesus Name. Amen.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6:34 NIV
1. What sin keeps you entangled? Verse 1
2. How can you break free from the cycle of sin? Verse 2
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
Psalms 121:1-8 KJV
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalms 46:1 KJV
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV
Today, in this day and time, is it possible to live pure? Sure it is. Will it be easy? No. Sometimes it will be a challenge. It will seem like 20 people will choose to go left and you will be the only person going right. When this happens, you’ll have to make a decision to walk the path your heart is set to follow and not switch directions (conform) because those 20 people went left. You must stand strong on the Word of God and know that you were called according to His purpose. You must not waiver and keep your eyes pressed on the mark set for the high calling. You must have a made up mind to live a life that is sanctified, holy, and honorable. You must be on a mission to hear Jesus say, “Enter in.”
1 Thessalonians 4
You’ve been marked, so we’ll just call you:
A winner, Dope, A conqueror, A Child of a King, Blessed, Favored, Royalty, Loved, Prosperous, Heir to the kingdom, The head, Above, A Leader, the Lender, Wealthy , Wise, Great, Awesome , Worthy, Brave, Obedient, Anointed, Chosen, Destined, Unique, Bought with a price, Free, Redeemed, and so much more!
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,”
Ephesians 1:13 NIV❤️
Why do we choose to take matters into our own hands? Why do we say, “Take a coffee break, Jesus. I have this one under control.” We forcefully take whatever we placed in His hands back. We send Him to our other issue(s) and keep this particular one because we feel we can handle it, it’s not that serious to give to God, or we are tired of waiting on God to work and think we can make things happen faster.
Let’s think for a moment. In life, we all have tried to fix one thing or another. When we did, we failed. Or we temporarily fixed the issue with our solution. I remember getting having an issue with my radiator in my car. It had a leak which caused my fluid to leak. Fixing it was about $350. I didn’t have that at the time. So I spoke to some people and they recommended putting an adhesive fluid in my radiator that will flow through and attach itself to the issue. If this worked, the leak would be fixed. But only for a moment. It would just buy me time until I replaced the radiator. But if I chose this route, the fluid of course doesn’t just stay in radiator, but the fluid will flow through the system. Now I would risk clogging up other parts of my car because of my quick and easy patch work.
Can you see where this is going? Taking the situation from God to fix it yourself will cause other areas in your life to be affected. Not only is your faith in God now rocky, but your trust is shaky. Your determination is now depleting. Your destiny has now taken a back seat to your now. We take our eyes off of the bigger picture to “fix” our now. By patching up our now, we hinder the blessing from flowing to our future.
The Bible says, “to acknowledge Me in all of your ways and I will direct your path. “It also reads, “cast all your cast into me.” The keys Word in both these verses is all. Not some. Not only the “big” things. Not just things that seem out of your reach. But ALL. Why does He want all of your ways and cares? Because His thoughts and ways are so much higher than ours could even be. His wisdom is too great. If we need to have surgery, we go to the hospital and lay down on the bed so the doctor can work on our bodies. But first they put us to sleep. Imagine taking the scalpel from the doctor while saying “I got this”. No you don’t have this. You will bleed to death if you make the wrong incision. Because you have no idea what you’re doing. The doctor has the schooling and knowledge to know that where they need to cut here. I need to do xyandz to fix this problem and make this person healthier.
So I say all of this to say, let God reign freely in your life. He has everything under control. Trusting Him is the best thing you can do in your life. He is God. A God that is able to do above all you can ask or think.
Can I be honest? Today was a day I had to choose to hold on to Jesus. Yes, choose. We have a choice to trust God and His word or not trust. When we trust, we wholeheartedly believe that God sees us and hears us when we make our request known to Him. Our choice to trust Him in the midst of the storm builds endurance and faith. When we choose not to trust, our storm seems to be a bit longer. Why? Because we now have taken our focus off of the King and placed our vision on what is going on. Instead of worshipping, we whine and complain. We look at other people’s lives and compare. When we get out of the posture of worship, our problems aggressively pounce on us leaving us feeling defeated, worried, stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. But when we stay in the posture of prayer and worship, we are renewed. We are given peace, joy, and endurance to keep us going. We are now depending on God and His infinite power to see us where we are and save us as His Word says He does. When we worship, it shifts our lives and causes it to align with Christ. Our worship produces change. Our worship keeps us sane. Our worship draws us closer to our Creator. When we are this close to Him, we have no choice but to focus on Him and His greatness. Our problems can’t live in His presence.
So while you wait on the Lord, I encourage you to be of good courage and keep walking with the Lord. He is making a way for you even now. Trust Him and believe that He will come through. When He does, it’ll be right on time. Don’t give up. Don’t complain. Don’t compare. His glory will be shown. Remember, His thoughts and ways are above ours. We may not understand the delay, but we understand that God has our best interest at heart. He loves us. Don’t be weary in well doing. Trust God. ❤️
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 KJV
“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
Psalms 27:14 KJV
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 KJV
“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:2-4 KJV
You don’t allow people to talk to you any kind of way, so don’t talk to yourself any kind of way. Love yourself. Lift yourself up. Encourage yourself. Life and death is in your mouth. Produce life. #OperationMe #LoveYourself
The only life that I want to live is a life that’s pleasing to Christ. One filled with malice, maliousiness, twofaceness, and hate just isn’t right. The life that I live on social media must match my reality. That’s important to me. Some say, Jess you take this thing to seriously. No, I act like this “thing” is important to me. I rather be known as the prayerful, loving, Jesus giving girl. Then the one that cursed someone without a care. Maybe if enough of us took this “thing” a little more seriously, the hurt and lost would be more willing to listen. But right now, all they see is the church being the world’s equal. Instead of the church without a spot or a wrinkle.
Give Jesus. The people need Him.
