All Things Mean All Things

Quick story: I was asked to do something and do not have the know how at all to do it. I began to feel overwhelmed. I sat down and God reminded me that I can do all things through Him. So because I have Him, I have access to His God given wisdom. I asked how, and He literally walked me through the process. So is there anything we can’t do? I don’t think so! We limit ourselves and train ourselves to think we can only do so much. Remove the labels you’ve placed on yourself and watch God do the impossible through you.

A special thanks to my sister for the conversation and confirmation.

The Beauty of Thanksgiving

As I was reading through Ephesians 5 this morning, this verse jumped out at me:

“Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I had to stop and pause. I reread. I broke it down. And this is what the Lord allowed me to see. While He showed me what I’m about to share with you, He revealed myself to me and what I need to do.

1. Let all obscene behavior, foolish talk, and coarse joking go.

Why? Because these things aren’t the character of God. When we accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we put on His character. The old me/you passed away. So we no longer live according to our flesh, but the Spirit.

2. Don’t hang around those who act and talk in such a way.

Why? Because 1 Corinthians 15:33 tells us that bad company corrupts good character. So if we am hanging with someone who practice these things, they will contaminate our character. Our Spirit, if not strong enough, will be contaminated too.

3. Partake in the beauty of Thanksgiving.

Why? Thanksgiving sets an atmosphere of praise. When we are thanking God, we are thinking on everything He has done for us. In return, we offer praises to Him. We are putting a smile on His face by partaking in the beauty of Thanksgiving. Since we are choosing to eliminate the things that don’t please Him (obscenity, foolish talk, and coarse joking) and act out the things that do (thanksgiving), we are living a thriving life and on the road of righteousness. And this road leads to Heaven.

Prolonged Seasons

My twin and I were talking about life and the topic of seasons came up. You can read all about seasons in Ecclesiastes 3:1-11. We both agreed that it’s important to know what season you are in. And if we have the ability to prolong a season (read about the children of Israel in Exodus 16), don’t we have the ability to shorten the length of a season by truly getting what God has for us in the time He needs us to get it? Now, don’t try and play God and say, “Yes, Jesus I got it. You can move me now.” Because He knows our end from our beginning. He knows the story of our lives. He knows if He can truly release us from one season to allow us to enter into a new one. So what are you holding up by procrastinating, you can release by doing what you’re putting off (ie. Forgiveness, good stewardship, positive attitude, etc). What you are holding up by being disobedient, you can release by being obedient . What you hold up by being out of order, you can release by getting in order. The length of the season you are in can very well be determined by your attitude, willingness, and submission to God. Learn what you need to learn and move on. It’s like being in school. Once you learn and pass a class, they promote you to the next grade. If you fail to complete assignments, fail tests, and don’t put the work in, you have to repeat the class or grade. Put the work into this season you are in and propel yourself to the next season. It’s up to you. May Gods will be done in your life.

Today’s affirmation

Today I will walk in forgiveness.

I will accept Gods forgiveness.

I will forgive others.

I will forgive myself.

““If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

For the people of Christ

Last night, my church had an awesome Bible Study. We read 1 Corinthians 3:1-7. Paul was speaking to the Corinthian church. But what my Pastor wanted us to focus on was this:

Are you a planter or a waterer?

A planter plants the seed. So they introduce people to Christ. The planter “gets the sinner saved”.

The waterer gives the person the necessary tools to grow. The waterer helps to mature the seed. It feeds the person.

So my Pastor asked this question so we would know our role in ministry. We can’t be both because the church is a body. We all need one another to function. The body can’t find function with a bunch of hands or a bunch of arms. (1 Corinthians 12)

So I ask you, which are you… A planter or a waterer? I tell you what, I prayed about my position and God let me know that I am a planter. Once I found this out, I was able to move in my assignment better. Now I’m functioning better for His kingdom.

“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world? When one of you says, “I am a follower of Paul,” and another says, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you acting just like people of the world? After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.”

Are you strong and courageous?

Are you being strong and courageous or are you being weary and unstable? This was a question for me first. I had to answer it when God brought me to Joshua 1:18. As I read, I realized that in my disobedience I am dying and those I’m destined to reach will die. Because God placed me strategically among people to bring deliverance and healing. And He’s done the same for you. So when we are being weary and unstable, the enemy is coaching us to stay as such. Why? Because if you are discouraged, you won’t walk strongly and courageous after the things God needs you to do. His will MUST be done in you. And not just for your sake, but for the souls you are destined to touch. No pressure. Because aren’t we just doing what God called us to do? So don’t be weary. Be strong. Be courageous. Be who God called you to be in Him.

“Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!””

Are You Stuck?

1. What sin keeps you entangled? Verse 1

2. How can you break free from the cycle of sin? Verse 2

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Help

I hear you screaming.

I see you reaching.

I feel your heart.

I am here.

Me. God.

I am here and I hear.

I am your ever present help.

I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Come to me ALL who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.

I am your comfort.

I am your peace.

I am your healer.

I am your help.

I am your strength.

I am your joy.

Remember, call to Me.

I will answer.

I will bring you out.

I will deliver.

Look to Me.

I hear you screaming.

I see you reaching.

I feel your heart.

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121:1-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Peace and Patience

Peace and patience have this in common… They are both from God. Getting strength to do all things will take them working together. Peace is given when you think on things that are noble, true, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Patience is given when you go through a trial or storm. You will have the patience within the storm as you are pulling on peace. So now that you are thinking heavenly thoughts, you have the strength to do all things through Christ. So if you are having trouble making it through a rough path in life, it may be due to what you are thinking about and pulling on. If you’re depending on yourself to bring you through, you are going to remain in the situation. Pull on God and remain content even in the season you are in. He will bring you through with more power, grace, and strength.

Why I do what I do

I do what I do because I love the Lord. For me to be obedient to His voice isn’t only imperative for my life, but those He needs me to connect with. I hear Him speak and I move. Sometimes hesitating. But the consequences of disobedience are just too much for me to handle, so I continue to follow His instruction. You see, I’ve been there. Living life on my own. Going with my flow and dismissing His voice. No wonder I didn’t hear Him when He spoke. My will clouded my hearing. So now that I have a clear line of communication, I am willingly obedient because the plan behind the instruction is too big for me to even see. So I will continue doing what I do for God because not doing His will is not an option. Is it an option for you?

I pray that you move in the direction that God needs you to move. I pray that you trust His voice as He speaks. I hope that you are seeking His will over yours because your will will leave you wanting more. Searching for more when you have all you need. All you need is found in Christ. So please not only consider Gods will, but do it so that you remain covered by His Blood.
