I was asked to do something tonight and debated doing it. I just want to share how the conversation with God transpired
Me: Hmm…should I go?
Me: Me not being there wont stop the show. *turns right to go home*
Him: you’re being disobedient.
Me: *sigh* ok Lord. *turns car around*
Him: you’re on assignment. You need to be there.
Me: *picks mouth up off the floor* Lord, I don’t know what to do or say. I need your help. Guide me.
Him: I will. But you’re going to have to listen.
Me: *chuckles* listen OK…OK…
Let us not just hear Him when He speaks, but listen and obey.
Beautiful. There are many definitions. But only one is true. Can you guess which one is the true definition? You. Yupp, you got it! YOU! Your smile is radiating. Your presence is wanted. Your words are pleasant. Your hair is perfect. Without makeup, your still breathtakingly gorgeous. Your laugh is contagious.
I can see God now. Having to step back to admire His perfect work. Truly, He created a masterpiece when He created you. He looked and smiled, “This is My child.” Perfect are we in His sight. Precious, extraordinary, magnificent, and unique.
Why is it so hard for us to see the same in ourselves? Maybe our image of ourselves have been tainted by society. Maybe someone needed to feel better about themselves by putting you down. They have reprogrammed our way of thinking. Our self esteem was knocked down a notch with every word. We need this and that….We must do this and that in order for us to be considered beautiful. But PLEASE don’t give in. PLEASE don’t believe the lies. PLEASE don’t base your beauty off of how someone else looks or the opinions of people. Learn to see yourself how God sees you. Look at yourself through His eyes. If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, allow those eyes to be yours.
What’s the definition of beautiful? You!
Lord, I intercede even now for those who are imprisoned by mental bars. We know that the enemy’s job is to steal, kill, and destroy, but you have given us power over the enemy. You have given us the victory. You have given us the power to speak to our mountain and it has to move. Your word says that whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. So we bind the hand of the enemy right now. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. For we are more than conquers. I bind mental illness, for you have given us a sound mind. The spirit of depression, because your joy is our strength. The feeling of not being enough, for You thought we were to die (on the cross) for. The feeling of loneliness, for You will never leave us nor forsake us. The feeling of not being loved, for you are love. When we found You, we found love. I loose your peace that will flow like a river. Joy that is our strength. Laughter that does good like medicine. Your love that will find us even in the darkest moment. You’re our strength when we are weak. Help us Lord to live our life according to Your Word so that we will walk in our purpose, for Your glory. Lord, I pray for their complete freedom. In Jesus name. Amen.
Who would’ve thought, I would be following my dreams.
Who would’ve thought, I would be happy being me.
Who would’ve thought that when I smiled it was no longer to hide the pain.
Who would’ve thought that she would remain sane.
There were moments when I should have lost my mind.
There were times I just wanted to die.
But the nerve of me to want to cut off my destiny!
I didn’t know it then, but I know now, that there’s a great work to be done through me.
I must push past the feeling of not being enough.
Push past the negative thoughts.
Positive thinking helps stop overthinking.
You can do this.
You will win.
Someone is waiting for you to succeed.
Someone is rooting for me.
Someone is rooting for you too!
They want to see you grow in knowledge and wisdom.
They want to see the pain healed.
They are calling your name in prayer.
They are longing to see you walk with your head held high for the world to see the beauty that they saw all along.
That person is me!
I too get worried. I too have moments when I have no clue what’s going on and what’s about to happen. The fact that I like to be in the know keeps the questions coming. Anxiety tries to set in. Worry has my mind racing. My life starts to flash before my eyes.
And all of this happens in the matter of a seconds.
But then, the peace of God overwhelmes me. Scriptures come to mind. A smile invades my face. I am reminded of the God I serve.
I rest in Him knowing that all things are working together for my good. All is well.
